Luli Sanchez's hand painted textile designs have been sold at places like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales. Pretty impressive.. but is it really any surprise ..?.. they are beautiful! Just thought I would share.. enjoy. :)

I think this one she may have been inspired by fireworks.. or on a second look..maybe dandelions..


To me..this one looks like those rings your coffee cup makes .. but it would have to be different color coffees..;)


This looks like a watercolor painting.. hmm ..maybe colorful asprin .. love it ha!


Not sure what it is about this one below .. but it makes me think of childhood..

This one might be my favorite.. looks like what happens when you let your markers bleed onto the paper..

It is interesting to think of where designers get inspiration from... these all so pretty :) They look like watercolor paintings.. makes sense.. she was a watercolorist before she started designing textiles.

Back to school and Quadrille

Hello again.

I know it has been a very long time since I have last posted.... but I have excuses .. I swear!.. soo I decided to continue with design school full-time at FIT!! It has been going great so far!! I have been learning so much and ..while it is a LOT of work and hours spent.. I thoroughly feel excited and optimistic about every project.. which is a great feeling (I must say)! In addition to this.. I have met some really amazing and inspiring young ladies in my classes..it's so great to have camaraderie while in such a rigorous program... and the people I have met are fantastic and soo much fun!

I am also still working part-time at the textile company 20 hours a week -- so in other words.. this is the reason for my lack of posts!! Sorry :-(. My poor poor neglected blog!!! I do miss it and my readers.. or hopefully you are still out there. I will say though.. I have surey been reading a lot of your blogs so .. have not been totally out of the loop.. maybe this week I will post a blog highlight post from some of the inspiring things I have seen from you all lately.. hmm.. that would be fun :)..


Anyway... I have recently found a new textile company that is actually in my building - at the D&D where I work. I have yet to visit.. but I will DEFINITELY have to stop by and take a look - see!! Their website is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!! Enjoy!!



Quadrille

Egyptian Elegance

Katie Leede is a sought after designer in Los Angeles. Her work is inspired by ethnic prints with a bohemian appeal.




.. and now she has launched her very own fabric line!!!


It is quite apparent her Egyptian influence in each design and each design is very unique and thoughtful. The colors are beautiful and soft yet interesting. I love imagining the possibilities... They can be dressed up with velvets or be very casual and bohemian with distressed antiques.

Karaku Japanese fabrics

I am loving the whimsical designs on these Japanese fabrics and at $5 to $8 per half yard why not?? They are way too fun!




This one below would be of course for a little girl's room in some way or another. Just adorable!

..and this last one in a little boys room..or a dog bed.. ha. I just love how vintage they look.

Amanda Nisbet's Fun Luxury

I really think, anyone in this industry or at least interested in Interior Design should know Amanda Nisbet's work!! Personally, I just love it. She is able to create a feeling of true elegance and luxury while staying fun and fresh! She uses the best colors and lots of them!!



Such great juxtapositions.

I just love this color green in the photo below. This happens to be the color of my hallway .. the color looks even better I might add with the super shiny finish and that rug that is simply to die for!

Amazing how much colors she uses without looking "Disneyland". Fun and fresh yet grown up.


I love this room below. She has such a great eye for contrast and variety. This little girls room is so pretty yet she adds such an edgy twist with masculine details such as the chair.

This stool is an example of one of her geometric patterns that will be included in the line. Soon to be available at Holland and Sherry.


Sigh.. I only hope that one day.. I will be able to be half the designer she is... :)
